Born in 1992 in Sanaa, Yemen, Ahlam Jarban has a degree in geology. She does painting and street art (textile creations, graffiti), participates to numerous events and exhibitions in Sanaa. She suffers the war in her country, as well as the difficulties of being a woman, affected by racism because of her Somalian and Ethiopian origins, in a narrow-minded, patriarchal and ethnocentric society. She arrives, through Jordan, in France in 2018, joins the agency of artists in exile and enrolls the National School of Beaux-Arts of Paris in September 2019. She exhibits during the festival Visions of Exile 2019, at the Cité internationale des arts – Site de Montmartre.
